Where O Death is Thy Sting?

Where, O Death, is thy sting?
Think you not your time is due?
I apologize not, nor thank not
These wounds I'll take and continue
On my path till my life I leave
Try I to forget, but I will not
No, can not, for it is imprinted
Upon my mind, it is a dark blot

Where, O Death, is thy sting?
I tell you there is none for I welcome you
These wounds I'll take not with a glad heart
Nor forgiving, but on this path I'll continue
Until my life unto you I give
And depart from this metaphor of Hell
Was I comforted as I sat alone?
Was I embraced as my tears fell?

Where, O Death, is thy victory?
For the victory is mine, I tell you
Will you heal these wounds I have taken?
On this path I wish not to continue
Where, O Life, is your joyfulness?
To me only death can bring
Where, O Death, is thy victory?
Where, O Death, is thy sting?
